Because of his persistence, Andrew found a tiny wire that wasn't fully connected, saving me at least $1500 for a new control panel.

This is not my first rodeo with Andrew at Shata Appliance. For some time, I had been looking for a good, reliable, and good repair company for my appliances, including Viking (which can be tricky). I was highly pleased with Andrew's work on my Kitchenaid oven involving a control panel issue about a year ago. Because of his persistence, Andrew found a tiny wire that wasn't fully connected, saving me at least $1500 for a new control panel. A previous repair man said I needed a new control board and looked no further. Andrew is quite a character. He looks like a Russian bodybuilder and has the gift of gab. He's willing to come out to Malibu for a service call (not his area) and is happy to come back (within 30 days) if there's a problem. Call Andrew at Shata Appliance. You'll be very happy.

Andrei is very Fessional. He's a very nice man and patient. The service fee was reasonable because Andrei was very thorough. He left only after he cleaned and put the refrigerator back, and after he checked it, everything worked properly. Highly recommendation. Thank you very much, Andrei.

Using gas cooktops is essential for safety and optimal performance in the kitchen. Here are some recommendations to follow:

Ensure Proper Ventilation: Gas cooktops produce combustion byproducts, so it’s crucial to have proper ventilation in the kitchen. Open windows or use an exhaust hood to remove any fumes or odors.

Check for Gas Leaks: Regularly inspect the gas connections for any leaks. Apply a soapy water solution to the connections and look for bubbles that indicate a leak. If you detect a gas leak, immediately turn off the gas supply and contact a professional for repairs.

Ignition and Flame Control: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for igniting the burners. Use the designated ignition system, such as a built-in spark igniter or a match, depending on your cooktop model. Once ignited, adjust the flame size to the desired level using the control knobs.

Use Proper Cookware: Choose cookware that is suitable for gas cooktops. Use flat-bottomed pans that sit securely on the burners and have good heat-conducting material, such as stainless steel or cast iron.
Clean Regularly: Clean the cooktop regularly to remove spills, food debris, or grease buildup. Use non-abrasive cleaners recommended by the manufacturer to avoid damaging the surface.

Be Mindful of Flammable Materials: Keep flammable materials, such as kitchen towels, paper towels, and curtains, away from the cooktop while it’s in use. Pay attention to loose clothing that could accidentally come in contact with the burners.

Regular Maintenance and Professional Servicing: Schedule regular maintenance checks for your gas cooktop, including professional servicing, to ensure all components are in good working condition and to address any potential issues before they escalate.
Following these recommendations will help you safely and effectively use your gas cooktop while enjoying the benefits of precise heat control and efficient cooking.

Some common problems that can occur with cooktops include:

Burner Ignition Issues: Burners failing to ignite or requiring multiple attempts to light can be caused by faulty igniters, clogged burner ports, or issues with the gas supply.

Uneven Heating: Uneven heating across burners or hot spots on the cooktop surface can result from burner clogs, damaged heating elements, or improper pan placement.

Temperature Control Problems: Inaccurate temperature control can make maintaining the desired heat level while cooking difficult. This issue can stem from faulty thermostats, malfunctioning control knobs, or problems with the electrical connections.

Gas Leaks: Gas leaks are a serious safety concern. Leaks can occur due to damaged or worn-out gas supply lines, loose connections, or faulty valves. A gas odor or hissing sound near the cooktop should be taken as a warning sign of a potential gas leak.

Electric Ignition Failure: Electric ignition systems, commonly found in gas cooktops, can experience failure, resulting in the need for manual lighting of burners.

Overheating or Overheating Protection Activation: Cooktops may overheat due to prolonged use, improper ventilation, or malfunctioning temperature sensors. An overheating protection feature may sometimes activate, causing the cooktop to shut off to prevent damage or safety hazards.

Electrical Circuit Problems: Electric cooktops can experience problems related to the electrical circuit, such as tripping circuit breakers, inadequate power supply, or faulty wiring. It’s important to note that specific problems can vary depending on the type and brand of the cooktop. When encountering any issues, seeking Shata Appliance assistance for diagnosis and repair is advisable.
